Individuals will be asked 1 on 1 questions with the other team for the first part of the contest. For example, whoever is in Chair “1 Red” will only compete with Chair “1 Green” for the first part. After finishing the first section, there are free for all style questions that anyone from either team can answer. This contest includes different horse related questions based on the 4-H’ers age division. There are no individual scores in this contest. 4 individual scores compiled make the team score.

Hippology-
Hippology is completed primarily individually, with the exception of team problems (INT & SR Only). It is completed on a Scantron with multiple sections-
- Horse Judging
- Two horse judging classes will be shown as a video. These videos could be ANY discipline. All age divisions have the same videos
- Stations
- Stations are often matching questions. For example- A saddle could be set out with its parts labeled and you would have a word bank of 10 part names. You would then have to match the number to the letter of the part name. The Scantron will be labeled 1-10 with A through T as options. The horn of the saddle could be #2 and “The Horn” option could be letter H. So, question 2 would be bubbled in as option H.
- Slides
- Each slide is a multiple choice question
- Exam
- The exam is a multiple choice paper copy test.
- Team Problems (INT & SR only)
- Team problems is for team competitors only. The 4 individuals that make up a team will be tasked with a hands on challenge. They will have to work together to answer questions, present, etc.
